Fujifilm will launch ‘FinePix S200EXR’, a successor to the award-winning FinePix S100FS in Japan market on September 5. The FinePix S200EXR aimed at top-end enthusiasts looking for excellent picture quality without the expense of a DSLR system, the camera combines the pin-sharp 14.3x zoom lens with the latest 12 megapixel Super CCD EXR sensor, which has won a string of awards since its introduction in the FinePix F200EXR. The ultra-high precision lens achieves maximum resolution at all focal lengths of 30.5mm-436mm equivalent with maximum aperture of a bright F2.8 (wide angle) to F5.3 (telephoto).

The FinePix S200EXR is fitted with an improved high contrast 2.7-inch LCD. The high contrast LCD is a considerable benefit in bright light. Viewable at angles of up to 160 degrees both vertically and horizontally, the LCD is bright and clear for easy and beautiful preview of your shots. Measuring 134.4×145×93.6mm at 820g, it is expected to be available for 60,000(JPY).

The new Casio Exilim EX-Z33 model has standard features similar to it’s high-end counterpart. It has only 10.1 effective megapixels with only 3x optical zoom. The LCD viewer has 2.5-inch widescreen and it has a built-in YouTube video mode to take some of the work out of uploading. No information about the price yet, but let assume it will be less than $149

The camera will also automatically release the shutter at the moment of a smile or the moment subject blur ceases in a panning shot. A shot can also be taken the moment the user’s face fills the frame when taking a self-portrait.

Automatic face recognition function
The Face Detection function allows users to detect the presence of people’s faces, and then, prior to shooting, the camera automatically recognizes the pre-registered face or faces that should be most clearly photographed, and gives those faces priority for correct focus and exposure.

Easy Mode makes it simple for beginners to operate
The settings menu in the easy mode has been pared down to just three items – flash, self timer and image size – making it easy for even beginners to understand and use.

2.5 inch widescreen LCD

This camera comes with a highly visible 2.5 inch widescreen display. Information on camera settings is displayed in the “Control Panel” on the right hand edge of the screen, so settings can be changed quickly and easily.
