The imageFormula Desktop Scanners Series

Canon U.S.A. on Monday introduced the imageFormula DR-2510M and DR-2010M desktop scanners, the first fully Mac-compatible high-speed document scanners offered from Canon. They’re priced at $795 and $555 respectively. Both scanners share a similar design, with USB 2.0 interfaces, “Scan-to-Job” buttons that send images directly to an application, shared network folders, e-mail or the printer, and both come with TWAIN-compliant drivers to integrate with scanning software. Bundled with the scanners is Canon CaptureOnTouch software, as well.

Nokia Booklet 3G is a Windows-based netbook with an Intel Atom processor from Nokia. The Mini Laptop as Nokia called this product is aimed to compete in netbook market. As Nokia sees it, more people want the computing power of a PC with the full benefits of mobility. The Booklet 3G uses Intel’s Atom processor and offers up to 12 hours of battery life. Nokia promises its latest innovation will deliver the experience of a full-function PC in an ultra-portable box with a 10-inch glass high-definition-ready display.

IREX Technologies Inc. announced that its upcoming electronic reader features an nice application for direct access to Barnes & Noble Inc.’s e-bookstore. Earlier this month IREX Technologies confirmed that its anticipated device will include an 8.1-inch touch screen with stylus navigation and 3G wireless connectivity. IREX, which already offers several different electronic readers, plans to start selling a new model sometime in 2009 that will include wireless connectivity for downloading books and other content straight to the device — much like Amazon.com Inc.’s Kindle e-book reader. IREX’s new device also will sport an 8.1-inch touch screen.

This is hot news. Apple Snow Leopard is available for pre-order today, the next iteration of the Mac OS will ship Aug. 28 as a $29 upgrade. Snow Leopard is Apple Inc.’s latest operating system software. The Mac OS X version 10.6 software will debut at Apple’s retail stores and authorized resellers nationwide. Apple’s online store is now taking pre-orders. Snow Leopard’s release comes days before its promised September launch. It precedes by two months the launch of Microsoft Corp.’s next operating system, Windows 7.

Windows 7 Hack – How to Start Windows Explorer from ‘My Computer’

Unlike windows vista or windows xp, on windows 7 the feature to set windows explorer straight from my computer is inactive. With this hack you can set the Windows Explorer to start from My Computer instead. This will help you to access the different hard disk drives or removable disks easily. Let’s go through the steps

Step 1: navigate to Windows Explorer in the Start Menu (it’s in the Accessories folder). Then edit the properties and change the target to read:
%SystemRoot%\explorer.exe /root,::{20D04FE0-3AEA-1069-A2D8-08002B30309D}

This will make the explorer open folders/drives in new Windows. To fix this see the next step
